HOW TO REDUCE YOUR STRESS THIS WEEK
In today’s busy world, reducing stress is easier said than done. However, I wanted to share with you all some tips that will hopefully allow you to find yourself less stressed this week.
Exercise – you may be thinking, “I do not have time to go to the gym and/or I do not like working out.” That is OKAY! Exercise does not require a gym membership. Simply finding some physical activity you enjoy can be turned into a 30 minute exercise routine. Exercise is very effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and enhancing overall cognitive function. Physical activity produces endorphins which are chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers.
Get Enough Sleep – Even if you cannot reach the 8 hour goal each night, I challenge you to increase your normal nightly sleep tool by 1 hourt! (exercise and physical activity improve the ability to sleep)
Practice Mindfulness – Instead of checking your social media accounts in the 5 minute breaks you find yourself taking, replace it with 3-5 minutes of mindful breathing or meditation.
Reduce Screen Time – Most phones now have a feature that keeps track of how long you spend on the phone each day. Take a minute to see how you are doing and significantly reduce that time each day this week.
Nutrition/Hydration – If you are looking to be effective and efficient this week, then I highly suggest you take the time to make healthy conscious decisions when it comes to your meals and drinks.
The BEST tip of all – take all the above mentioned and make it a HABIT and ROUTINE. You will find yourself happier and less stressed if you make these changes starting TODAY.
